History

Our mission is to develop and commercialize software that fundamentally advances computer-based modeling and simulation. Our initial focus has been improving the engineering of complex products by tying together diverse CAD/CAE/CAX models and filling interoperability gaps. Our next-generation products are componentware / platform software modules and toolkits; software for specific design-analysis integration applications; and engineering consulting services based on this software. Ultimately we see our products embedded in many types of tools in many markets, ranging from next-generation spreadsheets on Wall Street to diagnostics systems on space probes.

InterCAX LLC was founded in 2003 as North American distributor for LKSoft, a German software company specializing in integration of engineering information systems, especially the interoperability of electronic CAD, mechanical CAD, product lifecycle management (PLM) and analysis tools. Customers have included Boeing, GM, NASA, Rockwell Collins, and the US Army. The four founders are

1. Dr. Russell Peak, CTO, InterCAX, Atlanta, GA; also Senior Researcher at Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA

2. Dr. Dirk Zwemer, President, InterCAX, Atlanta, GA.

3. Lothar Klein, President of LKSoftWare, GmbH, Kuenzell, Germany.

4. Michael Dickerson, consultant and former NASA systems engineering manager, Simi Valley, CA.

InterCAX licensed the work of Dr. Russell Peak at Georgia Tech and was awarded Phase 1 and 2 SBIR grants by NIST in 2006 to commercialize his group’s specific applications to automated warpage simulation for electronics (where LKSoft products are one part of the total solution). At the same time, Dr. Peak is demonstrating the broader applications of the foundational technology in current GIT projects with major aerospace and automotive companies.
